- Ice Skating in Whistler/
Glide along to music under sparkling lights at Whistler Olympic Plaza’s outdoor skating rink or head to the Meadow Park Sports Centre arena for indoor ice skating. When winter temperatures drop, experience jaw-dropping views while skating on one of Whistler’s beautiful lakes.
Imagine skating outdoors with your family and friends, surrounded by the breathtaking scenery, the twinkle of festive lights and the Olympic rings.
Each winter, the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW), in partnership with the Province of British Columbia, transforms Whistler Olympic Plaza into skating rinks. With room for 150 skaters at a time, skating at Whistler Olympic Plaza is as intimate as it is spectacular.
Olympic Plaza may need to close unexpectedly due to weather conditions. For up to date information, (604) 935-PLAY, press 3.
When it’s cold enough, out come the snow shovels to clear a place for ice skating on Alta or Green Lakes in Whistler. Please note, there is no provider in Whistler whereby you can rent skates, so guests will have to use their own and everyone skates at their own risk.
If visitors don’t have their own ice skates, there is another option. Whistlers Meadow Park Recreation Centre has public ‘drop-in’ skating times and skate hire. Public skating takes place on most afternoons and some Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturday evenings. Skate rentals are available and friendly and courteous employees are on hand to help.
Visit the Resort Municipality of Whistler website or call 604-935-7529 for more Whistler skating information.
